They often feel that the public is obligated to make special accommodations for every group, no matter how large or small it is. They claim to be against racism, but in actuality are racist against whites, and believe that modern generations are responsible for the wrongdoings of their ancestors. They will usually pursue useless degrees with their parents' money, and they will never be found studying the hard sciences. A bleeding heart is NOT simply any left-leaning individual. Supporting social and environmental causes does NOT make one a bleeding heart. It refers specifically to those who take the views to a ridiculous extreme, make completely illogical, unrealistic demands, and are unable to recognize their own hypocrisy.

Those with "Bleeding Hearts" mean well, sure, but they are some of the biggest, nosiest little damn babies, so much so that they only serve to be the annoying ones. This slang is comprised of people with liberalistic ideals and goals, not realistically understanding the situation though they tend to think they do, regardless the situation and won't let in for even a moment.

In relaity, however, the 'bleeding heart' is being dragged down. This can end up in depression, suicicide or just feeling like shit. The bleeding heart will evernetually realize that by trying to help someone who didnt want help, they were really only hurting themselvs.you have to evalute what is more valuable in your life, and if she is worth fighting for, than fight. and if she is dragging you down, then get the fuck out of the relationship. That should be approched gently, you still want to be a shoulder for her to cry on, but you cant be emotionally invovled.

Oftentimes this phrase is misused to denote any far-left individual. Ironically, some far-leftist are anything but liberals at all, but most have some bleeding heart tenancies.
